Five Tenets of Thales Education

1. Classical: Taught in Trivium

This challenging curriculum will provide students with the 21st century skills needed to increase opportunities to earn academic scholarships and receive recognition in higher education. It will also provide a solid foundation for logical thinking.

2. Natural Law and Philosophy

This sequence of courses will provide students with an in-depth reading and analysis of ancient and medieval philosophy as a means for understanding the ancient and medieval world. Course readings will include works by Aristotle, Plato, Socrates, Cicero, and Aquinas.

3. American History and Traditions

This tenet is taught in the History and Literature courses. Great emphasis is placed on the rationale for the American Constitution through lectures and examination of original documents.

4. Entrepreneurship

Focus will be placed on teaching the benefits of the capitalist market and the rules and moral limits that allow it to work effectively. The student will be taught the entrepreneurial disposition of recognizing and managing opportunities and turning goals into realities. Students will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to gain a competitive advantage through the development of alertness, enthusiasm, energy, and prudent risk-taking.

5. Civility and Skill Development

The development of the student’s character is a constant and critical piece of their education. Through high moral, academic, and behavioral expectations, students will gain the skills needed to become effective leaders.
