Team Descriptions / Volunteer Opportunities

TEAM ACADEMIC ENDEAVORS

Volunteers needed to help in one (or more) of the following areas:

Academic Events-

Work with our Teacher Rep, Team Leader and other volunteers to coordinate special academic events. Single project opportunities available. Optional Fall and/or Spring commitment.

Educational Clubs-

Work with our Teacher Rep Team Leader to develop ideas for academic after school programming. (i.e. chess club, science club, computer club,). Single project opportunities available. Hours flexible and as needed.

TEAM PUBLICATIONS

Volunteers needed to help in one (or more) of the following areas:

Directory –

Database information, prepare school directory for publication. Can be done from home. Fall commitment only.

Google Group and Website Updates

Maintain the Google Group and update the Thales PATT website as needed. Can be done from home. Year round commitment, very flexible hours.

Newsletter-

Person or people to prepare a monthly newsletter. Can be done from home, flexible hours, yearlong commitment.

Yearbook

Members needed to assist in gathering candid photos and preparing a yearbook. Knowledge of computers helpful. Yearlong commitment, flexible hours.

TEAM COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Volunteers needed to help in one (or more) of the following areas:

Community Service Events-

Help to plan and implement a fall and/or spring community service project for the kids. Many flexible positions available. Single or multiple tasks are optional.

Uniform Store-

Develop a program for families in need of uniforms and school supplies. Yearlong commitment.

Publicity-

Develop and distribute press releases as needed. Yearlong commitment. Flexible hours.

Help for Thales Families in Need

Help to coordinate and deliver meals or services for Thales Families in need. Flexible positions, volunteer on an as needed basis.

TEAM THUNDERBIRD SUPPORT

Volunteers needed to help in one (or more) of the following areas:

Passive Fundraising –

Help promote, collect and tally Campbell soup labels, box tops, grocery card links and other items for the Principal’s Fund. Single task opportunities available. Year round commitment. Can be done from home.

Book Fair-

Help with our Fall Book Fair. Opportunities to help with decorations, set up, clean up, planning rewards or contests.

TEAM PROGRAMS

Volunteers needed to help in one (or more) of the following areas:

Cultural Arts-

Help coordinate and develop cultural arts programs for the students. Work directly with the team leaders and other volunteers on an as needed basis. Optional Fall and/or Spring commitment.

Library-

Volunteers needed to continue our library effort. Optional single or multiple tasks available. Hours very flexible.

TEAM MEMBERSHIP

Welcome New Family Service.

Help to welcome and recruit our newest families. Yearlong commitment. Very flexible hours.

E-mails/phone calls can be done from home.

Volunteer Coordinator

Review interest forms and help parents find their niche. Help to rally parents for school wide needs. Organize volunteer appreciation day. Very flexible hours, yearlong commitment.

Grade Parent Coordinator

Act as a liaison between room parents, teachers and PATT. Coordinate volunteers within classrooms and as needed by PATT. Handle classroom needs/requests by teachers. Year round commitment. Some work done from home via e-mail.

TEAM SERVICES

Volunteers needed to help in one (or more) of the following areas:

Health and Safety In-services

Help develop and/or deliver in-services to lunch parents and/or staff of multiple health and safety topics. Single project commitments available.

Grant Writing

Volunteers needed to research and write applications to be awarded money for our children’s programs. Can be done from home on an as needed basis.

Grounds Improvement /Recycling

Help our school Go Green and look great! Very flexible hours. Yearlong commitment.
