Academics
Thales’ academic curriculum is designed to encourage students to achieve excellence. The curriculum provides a firm and balanced foundation for future studies. By the end of the Thales’ K-12 education students will have completed a more rigorous K-12 reading, writing, mathematics, science, history, and language curriculum than any other regional education alternatives. The Thales’ curriculum has been carefully designed to ensure that students at or above normal aptitude will be able to thrive in our academic environment.
Features of a Thales education include:
Liberal Arts & Sciences
Thales Academy’s time-proven curriculum of liberal arts and sciences – centered on reading, writing, and arithmetic – develops a student’s critical-thinking skills. Our classically inspired curriculum teaches students at developmentally appropriate levels, ensuring student comprehension and success.
Objective Standards
Thales Academy annually measures student progress using objective, nationally-recognized Iowa Test of Basic Skills. Easy-to-understand results can be compared to those of students around the country. In addition, educational consultants are brought to the school each year to ensure that both students and teachers are achieving their maximum potential.
Character
Character formation plays a vital part of the Thales education of mind, body, and character. Thales students are taught to be respectful individuals through education about the Judeo-Christian values of our Founding Fathers, especially integrity, respect, hard work and selflessness. Successful character formation involves a commitment from the family, student and school.
